New symptoms: 2 more varicose veins on my right calf – boo! Hopefully they’ll go away after I deliver! Also right lower rib pressure if I’m slouching too much while sitting. Forces me to sit up straighter.
Queasy or sick: None this week.
Cravings: nothing new this week.
Aversions: Nothing new
Sleep: I’m waking up every hour or two to per and switch positions so it doesn’t feel super restful.
Maternity clothes: my jeans and leggings + my new belly band which is working out very well!
Stretch marks: nothing new yet – keeping fingers crossed
Belly button in or out: still in but shallow
Miss anything: being less achy in my belly and back
Movement: Lots every day! They kick and roll around, especially baby boy on the right. We found out at our ultrasound this week that I had them backwards this whole time. Whoops! And baby girl is facing my back so I don’t feel her as much in the front but she still wiggles around a lot.
New symptoms: intense pelvic and bottom pressure – I think they’re running out of space! I did have one varicose vein pop up on my right calf so now I’ve been wearing compression socks at work to prevent more.
Queasy or sick: Nope!
Cravings: still chocolate ice cream and pineapple
Aversions: coffee, fish, cooked broccoli
Sleep: about the same, overall needing more naps
Maternity clothes: I bought a belly band this week to try and get rid of that pelvic girdle pain – we’ll see if it works!
Stretch marks: None yet
Belly button in or out: In but shallow
Miss anything: moving without pelvic pain
Movement: kicks and flutters all over – I’ve been trying to catch them on video but it’s hard to see them on there
How far along: 19 weeks, halfway through this twin pregnancy!
Genders: Boy & Girl!!
Weight gain: 0 lbs
New symptoms: increased joint pain and increased appetite again
Queasy or sick: No, just a sensitive gag reflex still
Cravings: anything with strawberries or pineapples
Aversions: coffee, fish
Sleep: hit or miss, some nights are great and others are not
Maternity clothes: leggings and maternity jeans (I’ll need some new scrubs soon!)
Stretch marks: Nothing new, using my belly oil a lot but I also am not growing out super-fast
Belly button in or out: in
Miss anything: not being achy everywhere
Movement: yes! They’re fluttering and poking around more and more every day, usually around the same times of the day: 9am, noon, 4pm, 8 or 9 pm, midnight, and 4 or 5 am. It’s such a weird but cool feeling!
Oh my gosh I cannot believe that we have finally found out what our little babies are!
Leading up to this anatomy scan (on the 23rd of December) I had been thinking hard about how we should reveal the genders to our family and friends. I knew I didn’t want to do something super cheesy or cliché like smoke bombs or confetti showers. I feel like everyone is doing one of those and I kept getting drawn to a color filled cupcake idea because I love baking and sweets. The more I thought about it the more I loved it and Andrew was sold on the idea so that’s what I went for.
I bought some cupcakes from a local grocery store as well as some food coloring and frosting to put on top of the cupcakes after I filled them. After our scan, once we knew what we were having, I dyed the frosting the colors and got to filling and I think it turned out really cute and fun! It was simple and easy and exactly what I wanted.
